Welcome, Guest Bloggers

Since I have moved into the retirement home, I have been involved in a variety of activities and have not posted on my blog as much as I would like. Among many other projects, I’m planning a class on writing memoirs. Residents have so many amazing stories of their experiences in their lives, and many of those lives have lasted ninety or more years. I believe everyone should tell their life story for their families and possibly for a wider audience. With this class, every resident can write about their lives, and we will publish their work in a book. Although the book will be for sale, it will primarily be for their relatives to keep the family legacy.

I am updating and expanding my free ebook, Preserving Memories: How to Write a Family History, and creating a textbook for the class. Once the book is in print, it will be available for sale on Amazon. I will add exercises at the end of each chapter that I will assign as homework in the class and that readers can to use to jumpstart their own memoir or family history writing.

With all the projects I have going on, I probably won’t have time to post on my blog very much. For the next few weeks, I will be posting a series of guest blogs on subjects related to my blog. Many talented writers have knowledge and wisdom to share, and I have published a number of excellent guest posts in the past. The upcoming posts will be just as great!
