May is Military Appreciation Month. I am a strong believer in supporting our military and recognize their importance to our safety and the sacrifices they make to keep us safe.
It has been said that “A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life wrote a blank check made payable to “The United States of America,” for an amount up to and including their life.” That check was written when the individual enlisted in the military. Most of us don’t often think about the risks that servicemen-and-women take in the performance of their duties. I have recognized military members in a number of previous posts, including Military Appreciation Month 2017.
It’s always a good time to thank military members for their service, but sometimes we get busy and pass them by without even acknowledging them. Perhaps during Military Appreciation Month we should make sure to recognize and thank those who risk their lives to keep us safe.
