Devotion for the Sixth Day of Christmas

Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
     Serve the Lord with gladness!
     Come into his presence with singing!
 Know that the Lord, he is God!
     It is he who made us, and we are his;
     we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
 Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
     and his courts with praise!
     Give thanks to him; bless his name!
 For the Lord is good;
     his steadfast love endures forever,
     and his faithfulness to all generations.
 ~ Psalm 100

God is good; we owe Him thanks and praise. He is faithful, and His love endures forever. We are often quick to ask Him for things—physical, financial, emotional, spiritual. But how often do we spend time simply praising and worshiping Him. Even when we have problems, He is worthy of praise and thanksgiving.

Heavenly Father, I praise You. You are almighty, all powerful, omniscient, omnipresent, the Creator, my Lord and King. Your love is shown to us in the sacrifice of Your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior. In His name I pray. Amen.
