Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he uttered, O offspring of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob, his chosen ones! ~ Psalm 105:1-6
While Advent is a time of preparation and penitence, we should also be remembering all the Lord has done for us. He sent Jesus to be born as a tiny baby—He was born to die for all sins—and raised from the dead—to give us eternal life. He will come again in glory to take all those who love and serve Him to be Him for eternity. Yes, He deserves our praise and thanks and worship!
Thank You, Lord God, for all the blessings You give me in this life, but especially for Jesus’s giving up His glory to come to earth to die for me, to redeem me and reconcile me to you. I praise You, worship You, and glorify You. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
