Devotion for Tuesday in the Second Week in Advent

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.~ Galatians 4:4-7

We are children of God and co-heirs with Christ. We can call on God as “Daddy.” Sometimes we forget how amazing that is. Do we take for granted that we are heirs of the Kingdom of the Son, sons and daughters of the Creator and Ruler of the Universe? Do we forget that God is our Father and Jesus is our Brother and our Savior? Advent is a good time to remind ourselves of the incredible love that the Lord has for us and the amazing relationship we can have with Him.

Lord God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—thank You for the great love You have for me. Open my eyes and heart and mind to how amazing it is that I can call the Father Daddy, that Jesus died for my salvation, and that the Holy Spirit lives within me. Give me the wisdom and courage to tell others that they, too, can have a personal relationship with the Savior of the World;they, too, can be co-heirs with Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
