Heavenly Father, I’ve always heard that “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” But You know that isn’t true. People who are verbally abused can be emotionally devastated by the words they hear. Long before Jesus came to earth, Your Word foretold that He would be taunted, tormented, and mocked. Yet He took this abuse willingly for me and all who accept Him as Lord and Savior. He is my Lord and Savior, and He lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, now and forever, world without end. Amen.
