Serving God in Ministry
It might seem that this book is about Ron Dodds, but it is not. It was never about Ron or about Ron and Magda’s life together. It has always been about what God did for them and how He created miracles time after time. There is a song by Big Daddy Weave that says, “If I tell you my story, it would tell about Him.” That is exactly what you will see as you read the pages. After Ron and Magda dedicated their lives to God and went into ministry, it became all about Jesus. Life with the Lord is not always easy. However, he always makes a way, even in the midst of the most difficult times. The author’s prayer is that as you read what God did in their lives, you will be encouraged and realize that he will do the same for you.
I hope that after reading Our Story with God that you all will take tidbits of what ministry life is like. It is not always easy, but it is so rewarding to walk with the Lord and know that what you are doing has impact. My job in life was to allow Ron to be as successful as he could in ministry. His job in life was to do what God asked him to do and to share Christ with as many people as he could.
I thought about leaving the part of his death out from the book, but this is real life, and life is not perfect. However, even at the end I could see God’s hand on Ron’s life and continued miracles. You have to look for the miracles because they are not always obvious. I have learned to look for inspiration wherever I can find it because God lets us know He is still with us. My prayer is that this book will be an inspiration to anyone who reads it.
Not everyone can be an evangelist like Ron or start a foundation like Spring of Hope. But all of us have a calling to share the Gospel with those around us. If we want to spend eternity with our loved ones, we need to ensure they know about the Lord. The Holy Spirit will work on their hearts, but our job is to share what the Lord has done for us and show His love in the way we live our lives. If we do, we will see miracles and blessings. What the Lord did for us, He will do for you.
