Free E-Books for Read an E-Book Week
March 7, 2010 by Lillie
One of my favorite weeks of the year is here. During Read an E-Book Week, many publishers and authors offer free e-books to introduce readers to e-books in general and to their stories in particular. Of course, I’m already a big fan of e-books—and a big fan of free. So this week, I’ll be stocking up on great reading material for my Kindle.
I’m giving away several e-books, both fiction and nonfiction. You can download the books from my Smashwords page—simply place your order and enter discount code RFREE at checkout to receive a 100% discount. (Note: not all titles will be available at the beginning of the week but all will be added very soon. If you see a title on the list of books I’m offering that you don’t see at Smashwords, just return in a day or two and you will be able to download it.)
Be sure to check out all the other free books at Smashwords and Read an E-Book Week.
And don’t forget that Read an E-Book Week runs March 7-13, 2010.

Hi Lillie, Many thanks for the ebooks! – Wendy
Hope you enjoy them, Wendy.

Alan,
I just uploaded the e-book on research. I’m still working on formatting the family history and plant care ones. I’d intended to do it earlier—but I’ve been swamped with work. I’m juggling four book editing projects for clients, and that has to take precedence over my personal projects. But I will get the others up before the end of the week so they will be available for free.
Books are the sea of knowledge and everyone must be take a dip in this sea. I think this right time to commenting here. and visiting also. These six days of e book reading would be very important.
Adam,
I plan to stock up on a lot of free e-books this week to be able to read for a long time.
I just downloaded Trapped by Love and I cannot wait to read it. I am hoping to download some more free ebooks. Thank you for this one.
Ron,
Hope you enjoy it. I’ve got two of the how-to books up and will have the last one up tonight.
Free e book week sounds like a great idea, it’s wonderful to see some self publishing and knowledge sharing!
Michaela,
Read an E-Book Week has nothing to do with self-publishing. Some of the free book are self-published (four of the six of mine are), but many others (like two of my novels) are published by traditional publishers—some small press or exclusively e-book presses, others major national publishers.
The week is about ELECTRONIC publishing, not SELF publishing. I’m a fan of both, but I don’t want anyone confused about the two or the event. E-Books can be self-published, published by electronic-only publishers, published by regional and small presses, or published by the large publishers.
Hi Lillie, Sorry to make that mistake. I just saw some of the e books were self published so I was more making reference to how great it was that self publishing was happening online. But I understand e books are electronic publishing and can be published in a number of ways. Thanks for clearing that up.
Michaela,
I just wanted to be sure readers understood what the week was about. I’m a big fan of self-publishing—maybe we need a Read a Self-Published Week!
