Thursday after Advent 3

Ezekiel 34:11-12

For thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I Myself will search for My sheep and seek them out. As a shepherd cares for his herd in the day when he is among his scattered sheep, so I will care for My sheep and will deliver them from all the places to which they were scattered on a cloudy and gloomy day.

If we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are God’s sheep. He will seek us out and gather us together and care for us. Imagine! The Creator of the Universe cares for us as a shepherd cares for his flock—leading us to lush green grass and fresh flowing water, pulling us back from danger, healing our hurts. We don’t have to worry because He meets our every need.

Thank You, Lord, for caring for us as Your beloved sheep. Though we often astray, You lead us back to the fold. Give us hearts that love You above all else and want nothing more than to do Your will. In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
