Scripture for the Third Tuesday in Lent
March 9, 2010 by Lillie
Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” 22 Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven. ~ Matthew 18:21-22
Lord, it’s often hard to forgive someone who hurts me. But if I forgive and that person hurts me again, it’s harder to forgive the second time. Forgiving seven times seems impossible, but You tell us to forgive seventy times seven. I need to be forgiven again and again and again, Lord. Help me to forgive others as You forgive me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
