National Military Appreciation Month

Thank you for freedom.May is National Military Appreciation Month. We have a full month to show our appreciation for our military–past and present, but we need to appreciate those who keep us free every day of the year.

Without our brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines risking their lives for us, our country would be vastly different (for the worse)–if it even still existed. It’s easy to forget that. We owe not only our freedom but also our country and possibly our very lives to the brave men and women who have made and who continue to make sacrifices to protect us.

Colonel Allen West posted a very interesting article on military appreciation. It should make us all stop and think and how we appreciate–or not–our military members and veterans.

O LORD God of Hosts, stretch forth, we pray thee, thine almighty arm to strengthen and protect the soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines of our country. Support them in the day of battle, and in the time of peace keep them safe from all evil; endue them with courage and loyalty; and grant that in all things they may serve without reproach; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
