Forty years ago today, the Supreme Court legalized abortion. Two court cases, Roe v Wade and the lesser-known Doe v Bolton, made it legal for a mother to end the life of her unborn baby. Since then, nearly 56 million innocent babies have been killed for reasons as serious as severe handicaps or as frivolous as the convenience of the mother.
Did you know, though, that neither Roe of Roe v Wade nor Doe of Doe v Bolton ever had an abortion? Did you know that they are both passionate pro-life advocates seeking the reversal of the laws that were made in their names? You will find fascinating history in Lifesite News.
Watch the powerful video below, with President Obama’s words about the importance of giving children a chance to grow up.

I didn’t realize neither plaintiff ever had an abortion. Very nice article on the topic.
Steve,
That surprised me when I learned it several years ago. Who knows whether they would have followed through or not, but the court cases dragged on so long, they had their babies before the decisions.
I watched the “Silent Scream” anti-abortion documentary and I can’t help but felt bad how the unborn baby cries for discomfort.
Jane,
It’s heartbreaking. I can’t understand how anyone can willingly inflict such pain on an innocent human being.
I think the only reason that abortion should be legalized is when a mother’s life is in danger if she continue with her pregnancy, I think one of the best example is the pregnancy in fallopian tube..
It is really rare for an abortion to be required to save the mother’s life. It takes a strong and loving mother to choose her child’s life over her own, but there are courageous mothers who have done just that. Fortunately, that decision seldom has to be made. But when it does the question is, what makes the mother’s life more important than the baby’s life?
