Make a Micro-Loan for Free

August 7, 2012 by

Kiva is a great charity that makes micro-loans to entrepreneurs around the world. The loans are funded by donors, and when the loan is repaid, the donor can use the funds to make another loan or withdraw the money. I have loaned the same $25 over and over again.

Currently a sponsor is offering a free trial so you can loan the sponsor;s money and see how Kiva works. Kiva always gives you the opportunity to do a lot of good with a small investment. Now you can do good without putting up any of your own money, Naturally, the repayment will go to the sponsor and not to you, but by that time you’ll probably be ready to make your own donation.I hope you’ll take advantage of this generous offer to give Kiva a try.

I’ve never tried Kiva before but I’ve heard great things about it! It’s interesting how many people don’t need physical items as a form of help, but just a little bit of affordable financing.

      Mike,

It’s a great way to make a small donation that can be used over and over again. And you’re giving concrete help to people that will enable them to remain or become self-sufficient.

Now I know a good place to buy birthday and Christmas gifts for my Aggie husband, who bleeds maroon!

    Hi Lillie,

What a great post. I have been donating to Kiva for the past 4 years, and what’s really amazing is that it is the same $200 I initially gave that keeps going out and coming in and going out again. It was an incredible idea for a company. Wish I’d thought of it!

This would really help the people who genuinely need loans for their small scale businesses and other investments that would earn them profits and they can easily return the loan eventually. They can benefit with the help of this initiative taken by KIVA.

      Alex,

It’s also a great way for people to make an impact without having to donate a huge amount of money.
Small donors can still be very helpful.

      Harley,

Kiva is not for loans to people short on budget. It is specifically to help people in developing countries start or grow a business. It is a wonderful way to help people become self-sufficient.
