May is National Stroke Awareness Month. As I’ve written about before, I had a stroke 20 years ago, and I don’t want you or someone you love to go through that.
To learn what stroke is, risk factors, prevention, how to recognize when someone is having a stroke and what to do about it, and more, visit the National Stroke Association website and read some of my previous posts:

Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States and a major cause for long-term disability. If you don’t want to be a part of those statistics, educate yourself about stroke during Stroke Awareness Month.

I’m so glad you have overcome your stroke and I can now read your blog and have gotten to know you. You are an inspiration to me.
As a side note, my friends dog had a 20 minute stroke recently. Awful.
Thanks for the reminder.
Dominique,
I’m glad for all those things, too!
I have been following your blog closely but with limited time, I usually read in a feed reader and don’t click over to leave a comment. I’m so excited about your weight loss–I am working on the same issue.
It is moment of pleasure that your life is saved after stroke. It is special blessing of God to you.
Thank you, Azam. I have received so many blessings from God, and I am very grateful.

Peejay,
So tragic that people are dying of heat stroke. Heat stroke is different from the kind of stroke I had, but both are serious and can cause death. It is good to educate yourself.
I am so glad that May is Stroke Awareness Month. It is something that many have suffered with. Now we can be more aware than ever.
Alan,
I hope more awareness results in more saved lives as people know what to watch for and get help before it’s too late.
This is really great information Lillie. Simple post that may save many lives. Nice work.
Thanks, Mia. I hope awareness saves lives. It’s so important for people to take action quickly when they see they are someone close by is showing signs of stroke.
