Devotion for Second Monday in Lent 2012

Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” ~ Luke 6:36–38

Heavenly Father, we often take Your mercy for granted, but it’s much harder for us to merciful to others. We want you to forgive us, but we are slow to forgive those who hurt us. We want all the good gifts You offer, but we don’t always want to give to others. Help me to remember and understand that how I treat others determines the blessings I receive. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
