Thanking Our Veterans 2010
November 11, 2010 by Lillie
Thank you to all our veterans. May God bless you.
ALMIGHTY God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead; We give thee thanks for all those thy servants who have sacrificed their time, safety, comfort, dedication, and personal ambitions—and even their lives—in the service of our country. Grant to them thy mercy and the light of thy presence, that the good work which thou hast begun in them may be perfected; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord. Amen.

Thank you so much for sharing such an awesome video. My dad was Navy, My husband Air Force, and My son Marine. I am proud of all of them along with every else who has served in our armed forces.
May no one forget any of them.
Again thank you for sharing!!
Julianne,
Thanks to your father, your husband, and your son for their service. And thanks to the rest of the family for supporting the military members so they could serve. Sometimes we forget the sacrifices made by every member of military families, and they all deserve our thanks.
Thank you so much. My father also fought in the war and he made it home safely, but many of his friends didn’t. Days like today mean a lot to him.
Margaret,
Thanks to your father for his service. We should take every opportunity to show our appreciation to those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
Thank you for this tribute Lillie! I’m sure every Veteran appreciates it very much!
Dominique,
Thank you for your service. I appreciate the service and sacrifices of every veteran very much!
Very good post Lillie.
Long may they live in the memories of those who walk freely because of them
Christopher,
Yes, long may they live in our memories.
Just released an article on Rememberance Sunday to honour those who died, its called Remembrance Day 2010.
Christopher,
I’ll look forward to reading it as soon as I finish installing programs, restoring data, and configuring settings after upgrading my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7. I knew I had a lot of stuff–but I realize it even more now.
I know exactly how hard, boring and stressful that sort of task can be! Hopefully it will be worth it
“I knew I had a lot of stuff–but I realize it even more now.” – I know exactly what you mean! I sometimes find weird folders with loads of files in and think to myself ‘why did I keep these?’ or ‘what the heck are these!’
Christopher,
I’ve finally got things about the way I want them. There are still a few things I will continue to tweak as I get more familiar with Windows 7 and all the new programs. But I’m really happy with everything.
Good to here it Lillie, I am glad you like it
Christopher,
I’ll bet you’re not as glad as I am.
Freedom is not free!
I have never heard it put so simply and powerfully. I have tears in my eyes and I don’t know what to say except – thank you to each and every one of you who was or is prepared to risk their freedom and their life – so that we can have the right to complain.
There’s a few people in this country, while they are demonstrating about our soldiers – could do with a reminder. Our soldiers might hate what they are saying – but are willing to rish their own lives to give them the right to say it. Really makes you think, doesn’t it.
Thank you Lilli.
Dave.
Freedom is not free! You just need to look to Burma on the news today to realise how lucky we are.
Freedom is not free!
Dave,
You gave us an excellent reminder: our soldiers risk their lives even for the people who demonstrate against them and disrupt their funerals. We can’t appreciate that enough.
To all those who have served, or are now serving, we thank you for putting the needs of the nation before your own. You are heroes, all.
Sensei Matt,
They are definitely heroes and deserve our thanks.
Thanks Lillie for the prayer. I try my best to always thank vets for their service when I see them. It’s especially nice to do so on a day set aside for them.
Brian,
Soldiers may find it especially nice to be thanked on a day that isn’t set aside for them. Lots of people remember them on Veterans Day and other occasions, but not so many take the time to say thanks the rest of the time.
