Thank you! Awesome video! Our military rocks and they deserve our thanks and support! Without them, we wouldn’t still be the freest nation in the world!

Lillie, last week at church we honored those who have answered the call to serve. Men and women were called to the altar so that we could honor them, thank them and pray for them. It was so powerful and emotional. Whatever one thinks about war, we should all pause to thank those who willingly choose to serve our country and protect our freedoms. Thank you for taking time to honor our military.

      Karen,

Honoring and praying for servicepeople in a church service is a wonderful thing to do. I can imagine how moving it was.

The men and women of our military (and their families) deserve our recognition now and in the future. Let us not forget to honor and support veterans who have served in the past and now have unique needs. Too often we lack compassion for the ones who have served and are now less than whole, either physically or emotionally.

    • Lillie says:

      Kevin,

You’re right. There are so many vets with PTSD, for example. I’ve worked on a book with a psychiatrist on the subject of combat PTSD, and it is tragic.

  7. Jo says:

Great, great, great! We should all be saying Thank You to them!

  8. Andrew says:

    Lillie,

Military personnel make sacrifices I don’t think that I could ever understand.

Without those sacrifices, your country would not be what it is today. Nor would residents throughout your country enjoy the wonderful freedom which all of your citizens now enjoy.

    • Lillie says:

Absolutely, Andrew. Unfortunately, too often we take those sacrifices for granted and fail to recognize the value of the freedoms we have.

    Lilli,

The announcment yesterday, that the marines will be taking over from the Brits in Sangin, is timely remider of sacrifice the US military has made to defend freedom over the last hundred years.

We are lucky to have then and need them now as much as ever.

    Barbara.
