Socialnomics (Refresh)

May 7, 2010 by Lillie

I posted a video about social media last September. The maker of the video and author of the Book Socialnomics, Erik Qualman, recently updated the video: Social Media Revolution 2 (Refresh).

There’s some pretty amazing information here, for sure.

    • Erik Qualman says:

Thanks Karson for the kind words!

Lilli – thanks for posting and thanks to everyone here for the support of Socialnomics – I can’t do it without you, you’re the best.

        Erik,

Thank you for all the research and education you do about social media. Just watching the video makes my head spin—compiling all that information must be mind-boggling!

Kind of makes your head spin, doesn’t it, Christopher?

      • Certainly does!

This video inspired me to write an article on whether social media is just a fad!

I am going to launch it soon, but thought that you may be interested, so am releasing the URL to you a few days before I post it.(URL removed because it is not yet active)

        Thanks again :D

          Christopher,

I’m interested to read your article, but the link ended in a “page not found” error. I’ve learned from experience that posts scheduled for the future can be seen only from within the dashboard of WordPress so maybe the post is there and just not visible to the public until scheduled. In that case, please return and give the URL.

Also, your comments continue to end up in spam, although I have approved previous comments from you. You may be on Akismet’s spam list; a couple of my commenters have been able to get themselves removed.

        • Had a look, and couldn’t work out why, maybe it’s the URL, it thinks I am spamming you :(

Oh well, the link is here for you again: http://www.technology.christopher-roberts.co.uk/Archive/2010/Is-Social-Media-Just-a-Fad.asp

I don’t use wordpress, so I don’t think that it could be that.

If you still can’t get on it that would be interesting, as someone else had a similar problem, a few tries later it worked.

If you can’t try going to the 2010 archive (link on the site bar) then type in “Is-Social-Media-Just-a-Fad.asp” after “…chive/2010″.

          Thanks for the interest :)

          Christopher,

The link works now, and I read your article. Nice summation of the stats.

Akismet still thinks you’re a spammer. I normally check spam comments and retrieve legitimate comments that end up there. However, when I have more than 100 spam comments at one time, sometimes I just delete them all rather than slog through. So if you leave a comment that doesn’t appear, it probably got accidentally deleted.

        • Christopher Roberts from Technology Blog says:

Thanks for your feedback on the article. Is there any way you could ask Akismet to remove me from their list, as as you can see, I don’t spam, I only make a comment if it adds to a blog.

          Thanks very much :)

        • Lillie says:

          Christopher,

I think you need to contact Akismet—if you are blacklisted for my blog, you are blacklisted for all Akismet blogs. I have had a couple other commenters who had a similar problem and were able to resolve it by contacting Akismet. I’m sorry I didn’t get specific details on how they did it.

        • Christopher Roberts from Technology Blog says:

Brilliant, thanks very much, contacted them, and hoping they will get back to me soon.

Also, just to let you know that article is now live to the public – the social media one that you previewed.

          Thanks again :)

P.S could you tell me if this is in your SPAM folder. TY :D

          Christopher,

Whatever you did worked! This is your first comment that didn’t end up in spam. It appeared immediately, as it should have since I had approved previous comments.
