Scripture for the Third Friday in Lent
March 5, 2010 by Lillie
“The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.” ~ Matthew 21:42 (ESV)
Lord, the world rejected Jesus, but I want to make Him the foundation of my life. Guide me to build the life You want me to live on the strong foundation of Christ. In His name. Amen.

This verse has a lot of value in it. Today’s world puts too much importance in job status, income and appearance. Jesus chooses average people to do great things. This is what we need to teach our kids. The world’s standards are not what we should live by. You don’t need the blessings of money, edu, … to do great things in life. Follow Jesus and all shall be given unto you.
Ty,
Too often we build on a foundation other than Christ, and when storms come, our foundation fails us.
I think it’s nice to see things like this. We seldom see this words if were online unless you go to specific sites about this religious message. Thanks for seeing this quotes. Good job.

Thanks, sarce. Although my blog isn’t a “religious” blog primarily, I like to post these short Scriptures and prayers during Lent and Advent.
Whenever I encounter difficulties in life, I too remember what Jesus sacrificed for us. Thank you for sharing this scripture and may God bless you.
Val,
When I think of what Jesus went through to sacrifice for my sins, I realize that whatever difficulties I have are pretty minor.
Very nice thank you – Jesus here is quoting from Psalms 118:22

Jean,
It’s amazing how often Jesus quoted from the Old Testament—proof that the Old Testament is important. I’ve heard people say that the New Testament is all we need, but Jesus Himself showed us the New Testament is built on the Old Testament.
I, myself, can really tell how Jesus is very much alive and present in my life. I pray that I will know him more, I will love him more deeply and I will follow him more steadfastly.
Amen, Ron.
