Scripture for the Third Wednesday in Lent
March 3, 2010 by Lillie
“But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” ~ Matthew 20:26-28
Lord God, Jesus came as a servant and sacrified His life for my sins. He told us that we must serve one another. I don’t have to die to others, but I do have to die to sin. Thank You for His great sacrifice, giving me forgiveness of my sins and eternal life. In His name. Amen.

If more people would realize the importance of serving others, we certainly would have a better world. So many people are self-centered, selfish, and inconsiderate of the needs of anyone but themselves. Follow Jesus.

Susan,
You’re right. I can only focus on myself—I had someone e-mail me and essentially say I was self-centered and heartless because I wouldn’t something she wanted me to do. I felt terrible about it and pray she isn’t right. However, each of us has limited time and resources and have to do what we can do best and what is most important to us. We can’t do everything.
I feel the same way as Susan above, I really hope more people see the light and start treating others as they would want their own family to be treated.

cam,
The world would be a better place … but all I can do is try to be better myself.
