Charles,

You've said what I feel as a booklover—no better gift than a book, except a gift certificate for the recipient to choose their own book.

Giving books as a present in holiday occasion & special time of the year is sign of taste & class.also books are not only is a source of knowledge & information but also a good source of entertainment & joy, which seldom can be found in other form of entertainment.

Rob,

To each his own, as the saying goes. That's why my most of my books and most of my clients' books are available in both print and electronic formats.

For those of us with arthritic hands, the weight and feel of print books (especially hardbacks) can be painful. For those of us with vision problems, the relatively tiny print in paper books can mean we can't even decipher what's on the page. For some of us, e-books are a blessing that allow us to read when we couldn't otherwise do it. There are few print books I can read, but I can read anything I want on my e-book reader.

I won't make fun of you for smelling books if you don't make fun of me for scoffing at print books. :-)

I'm an avid reader - but for some reason I just can't get the hang of ebook readers. I confess to being an addict of books as objects as well as for their content - I love the feel and weight of them (I always take a surreptitious sniff of new books in a store - am I the only person who does this?!). But I also know many people who adore ebook readers for their convenience. Perhaps I'll come round in time ..!

chakru,

You're right. I'll bet you discover some authors you haven't heard of with books you'd like to read.
