Podcast at Bluestocking Guide

October 5, 2009 by Lillie

On my blog book tour for Dream or Destiny, The Bluestocking Guide interviewed me on a podcast.

DVAMThe interview is posted again on The Bluestocking Guide for Domestic Violence Month. Bluestocking was a domestic violence victims’ advocate, and we had a fascinating discussion about the subject.

Bluestocking said that David’s psychological reactions in Dream or Destiny were very accurate from her experience of dealing with victims. I don’t have any personal experience with domestic violence, so I’m glad my research—especially reading first-person accounts of victims—resulted in an accurate portrayal.

If you’re interested in understanding and preventing domestic violence, listen to the Inklings podcast.

Remember, I’m donating $5 to the National Domestic Violence Hotline for every copy of Dream or Destiny sold during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. I’ll also give each person who buys Dream or Destiny an e-book of the contemporary romance Fern’s Fancies. Learn more in my previous post on supporting Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

That is so fantastic that you are giving money dedicated to domestic violence with the sales of your book. I will definitely have to keep an eye out for that podcast because it sounds interesting :)

  2. Lori says:

Lillie, that’s wonderful. Congrats on the podcast, but I think the larger accomplishment was capturing the voice of the victim so well. That’s music to a writer’s ears!

    • Lillie says:

      Lori,

Thanks. It was a real thrill when Bluestocking said that when she was reading she was convinced that only someone who had been battered or who was very close to someone who had been battered could have written that character.

      Mack,

I’m sorry, but the link above is all I have. Bluestocking is a big Mac fan and does everything on Mac. I had to download Quicktime to listen to the interview myself. I don’t like Quicktime, but that was the only way I could hear it.

It was really great to know about the Podcast, i like it and i hope you will share some thing very interesting in the near upcoming future.

    • Lillie says:

      ANSH,

I’m glad you liked it. Bluestocking has a traffic counter on the page, and I’m disappointed at the small number of people who have listened.

  8. Domestic violence should not happen to anybody, but unfortunately, it does. Good thing, there are groups supporting the victims. I admire your support to this and hopefully the statistics would eventually lessen.
