Adam,

Some genres tend to more action-oriented and others more character-oriented, but even action adventure, I think, needs great characters to have a great story.

Great point Lillie about how great characters matter more than great action.
I feel an audience will always get attached to great characters. If the characters aren't good then great action is worthless.

Jerry,

The hazard of using a real person's name as a character is that the author will tend to try to make the character exactly like the real person, and anyone who knows the person will expect the character to be like the real person. Generally, it's better to use bits and pieces of different people to create a unique character. You could, however, use one name (first, middle, or last) rather than the full name.

Developing characters base on my story seems nice to me and it leads me think that maybe my name should be used as a character of fictional story. This will make the story seems real.

I'm glad you enjoyed the series. Have fun re-reading your favorites and watching the character development.
