Yeah, I am one of those who loves “free”. This is my chance to download a lot of free reading material. Thanks for the news.

    • Lillie says:

      Peter,

Don’t we all love free? Enjoy the great books you find.

It looks like you left two comments, probably thinking the first didn’t go through. For some reason, they both went into moderation even though I’ve previously approved a comment. Not sure why … Anyway, I deleted the second comment.

  3. This is nice – most ebook sites are ridiculous to navigate. This one doesn’t look so bad though.

  4. That is so fantastic that you can download these free e-books! I will definitely be taking advantage of this and passing that information on, so thank you Project Guttenberg.

  5. Terry from Medical Scrubs says:

Thanks Lillie for the resource. Will all that books though, it might take me a little while to find the one to read first. LOL

    • Lillie says:

      Terry,

I know what you mean. I have a bunch of books on my Kindle already and a whole bunch more to download. If I could read all the time, I’d never read everything I wanted to. :-)

      Jack,

Glad you found something of value to you. I used to listen to books after I had a stroke before I recovered enough to see to read. I don’t listen any more, but it was a tremendous blessing to have audio books then.

  12. Helen Ginger from StraightFromHel says:

For me reading+free books is time well spent.

  16. otem from raquariumpassion says:

    Hi Lillie
for me, reading is everything, i love to read(having hard time with my son about his reading habits)and when its free its more enjoyable.

    • Lillie says:

      rotem,

I can’t imagine not reading—either not being able to or not wanting to. After I had a stroke, I couldn’t see well enough to read for a long time. That was when I discovered audio books. But now I’m reading again electronically where I can set the font large enough to read. So free e-books are especially good for me.

  17. otem from raquariumpassion says:

Glad to hear that you feel better now.
Keep up with the good work for us and specifically for your family. wish you the best.

Blues (if you wrote Your Name@Blues, I could address you as a real person instead of a musical genre, and you would still get your keyword link),

To the best of my knowledge, there is no download limit. There are several sites involved in the project, and their goal is to encourage people to read e-books.

  22. ave from DLearn To Speak Spanish says:

I think the world ebook fair shows how the interest in ebooks has increased and how it is overtaking tradional books. I love ebooks and love the world ebook fair.

    • Lillie says:

      Dave,

The fair has happened for several years, but you’re right that e-books are a growing segment (the fastest growing, I’m pretty sure) of the publishing industry.

  23. Justin from Used Machinery says:

Always nice to get something for free….I wonder how they get around the copyright laws? but its always nice to come across sites like these

    • Lillie says:

      Justin,

All the books are either in the public domain or the authors have granted permission for them to be given away free. These are legitimate, honest sites that respect and honor copyright.

  24. atrik from PWii Guide says:

I am a big fan of public domain books. It has also been a long time since I ever read anything. This would be the best time to gather reading materials for the holiday season.
