Well, I’m not sure what I did, but I typed a comment and then made it disappear, lol! Lillie, I just want to thank you for not only all that you do but for who you are. I look forward to your posts in my email. I can hear your warm voice and am always cheered by “mail from Lillie.”
This is more than a blog but it feels like a warm visit with a friend. When I need trustworthy information or just a word of encouragement, I can ALWAYS find it here. Thank you Lillie for sharing your gifts with all of us.
Karen,
You are so sweet. You know we have a mutual admiration society as I have the reaction to you and your blog.
Lillie,
Thanks so much for including me in your Thank-you post. It’s always a pleasure to read and comment on your insightful posts. I’m only sorry that I haven’t been able to do so as often as I’d like lately.
Jeanne
Jeanne,
I appreciate your comments and certainly understand why you haven’t been around as much lately.
Thanks, Lillie!
You’re welcome, Jeanne.
hey, thank you so much for putting me on there! I really appreciate bloggers who reward their readers, so that is inspirational to me
you are a great example.
C,
With the comments you’re leaving today, you’ll be high on the list next month.
Hello,
Thank you for listing me and my blog. I enjoy reading your blog and your writing rocks!

wilson,
You’re welcome. Thank you for commenting so faithfully and for the birthday wishes.
Oh boy, do you manually browse your comment stream to generate this table or have a plug-in to export these details from wordpress database?
That’s a really good gesture towards people who comment on your blog.
Jeet,
I have answered this question in comments just about every month and have decided to write a post about it rather than keep repeating it. Please return on Friday when I post the entire process I use.
Not sure about how Lillie does it but there is a plugin called top commenters widget you can use to generate a similar list in your blog’s sidebar (it is as easy as any drag-n-drop widget). I use it on many of my blogs and ever since I have started using it my blog traffic and commenting has definitely increased!
Patricia,
I’m not sure if the Top Commenters plugin is incompatible with my theme or what, but I have never been able to get it to work.
However, as far as I can tell (not sure since it’s never worked—I can’t get a widget on my sidebar at all), it lists at most 15 to 25 commenters. I’m not sure if it can be set to exclude my replies or not. I reply individually to every comment, so I wouldn’t want my comments included.
At any rate, I want to recognize all my commenters, usually 200+ each month, and I don’t think the plugin would show them all. If it did, I wouldn’t want that long list on my sidebar.
But thanks for the suggestion.
To see how I compile the list, see this post: http://lillieammann.com/2009/06/19/compiling-thanks-to-commenters/.
Hi,
I am coming here first time.It is great that you thanks to your commentator. My friend Anupam told me about your blog.I really happy to see his name i wish i will be here next time.

aditya,
Now that you have left a comment, you will see your name on next month’s thanks to commenters post.
Hi, Lillie
It is very good that you are rewarding your commentators like this, You know it is something very good feeling comes from inside when you saw your name in commentators list, it is actually a feeling from both sides, as you love rewarding your commentators and we love your blogs to add our comments.
I must congratulate all the Commentators for their good feedback. it is really appreciating.
Keep up your good work, and god bless
Thanks and Regards,
Snv
Snv,
Yes, it is good for my blog to have such excellent commenters. Often, there is more and better information in comments than in the original posts. And, of course, it is good for commenters to receive DoFollow links when they comment and again in the thank-you post.
Thanks Lillie,
I always enjoy your insightful discussions on this blog.
Keep up the great work.

Oh boy, do you manually browse your comment stream to generate this table or have a plug-in to export these details from wordpress database?
That’s a really good gesture towards people who comment on your blog.
Bob,
Read recent posts. I described my entire process for compiling the list in a post a few days ago.

mike@seo indore´s last blog ..GEO Targeting
Mike,
It’s not always easy to reply to every comment, but I enjoy the conversations that take place.
That’s very impressive! Where on Earth do you find the time to respond to 295 comments per month!
I mean, you obviously spend a fair amount of time on your content, so how do you find time to respond to all the comments?
Also, do you have a problem with mass comment submissions? Any advice for a struggling blogger???
Lucinda@machine´s last blog ..Free Franking Machine Trial! No Obligation – Save Money For Your Business
Lucinda,
We all prioritize our time. In my case, blogging and reading are the two ways I relax. I spend time doing those things that other people spend watching TV or going to movies or sports events or concerts. I often wonder how people have time to participate in Twitter and other social media, but I realize that is how they choose to spend time I choose to spend blogging and reading.
I’m not sure what you mean by asking if I have a problem with mass comment submission. If you mean do I get a lot of that, making it a problem, the answer is yes. I delete anything that appears to be mass-submitted: “great post,” “I just stumbled across your site but like it and will be back,” and other generic comments that aren’t relevant to the post.
If you mean do I object to mass comment submission, the answer is also yes. That’s why I delete comments that I don’t think are relevant.
Of course, sometimes I approve “great post” type comments if they are from commenters who have already shown they are individuals who read the content. I have been known to leave a comment like that on blogs that I frequent. There are times when it’s appropriate to say “thanks for the great post.” But when it comes from someone I’ve never heard of—and especially if that “person” makes the same comment on several posts
— they’re deleted.
Hi,
It is great way to hold your commentator by reply each of the comment and appreciate them In end of the month.I think you gives lot of time on your blog.,
Thanks for the sharing.
aditya,
I do spend time on my blog, but I love doing it.
Wow! That is an impressive list! It’s nice to see a blogger that truly appreciates the commentors who make all of this possible.
Cliff,
I’m really blessed. Though I don’t have a lot of traffic, many of my readers partipate actively in the conversations here.
That was one of the things that surprised me when I started blogging. I expected to share my experience and knowledge, but I didn’t expect to make so many friends and learn so much from my readers.
So… lemme get this straight. As long as I at least leave a comment on your thank you post every month, I’m guaranteed another mention NEXT month?
(Howdy, Lillie! A tip o’ the hat to ya!)
Robert,
Hmmm … when you put it that way, maybe I’ll have to make an exception and say comments on the thank-you post don’t count.
Naw … I’m glad to hear from you even if it’s just once a month thanking me for thanking you.
I think it is good for a blog to have such excellent commenter. the key to success online is to keep people coming back
