In honor of Memorial Day, Trace Atkins singing “Arlington.”

ALMIGHTY God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead; We give thee thanks for all thy servants who have laid down their lives in the service of our country. Grant to them thy mercy and the light of thy presence, that the good work which thou hast begun in them may be perfected; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord. Amen.

It really has a sad theme. I admire to those who serve and sacrifice for the country. They are indeed great heroes.

    • Lillie says:

      Andy,

Yes, it is sad. I can’t imagine losing a loved one serving our country. It would be such a combination of sorrow at the personal loss and pride in the loved one’s willingness to sacrifice for a better world.

  8. C McCoffee from bodum 1923-16 says:

this is really significant for Memorial Day, especially since it’s in Arlington. Good to see.

    • Lillie says:

      C,

It’s from a couple of years ago, but it was the most current I could find. Naturally I couldn’t find one for this year in time to post it.

  9. DrewBaylor from moleremoval says:

I hope their families can handle the loss well specially the children of these brave people who sacrificed for us.

  10. Lillie says:

    Drew,

We all how hard it is to lose a loved one to natural causes—I don’t know whether it would be harder or a source of comfort to know your loved one sacrificed their own life for others. Of course, there would be pride in their altruism and courage, but the personal loss would be just as great.
