Thanks, this has been a really cool series. I don’t live in a place that has book clubs so this is a neat way to simulate it for readers. I think it could be a really good way to spark some good debates.

      Richard,
I’m glad you enjoyed the series and like the idea of blog book tours. I intend to host more authors on tour and hope to take more tours in the future.

  2. Mihaela says:

I see that the book tour was a success and the report is brilliant, Lillie – how long did it take for you to put it together?

    • Lillie says:

      Mihaela,
The report took quite awhile—not so much assembling the information, but getting the information from hosts.

I should have informed hosts in advance that I would be asking for this information so they would be prepared. Some had the data readily available; others didn’t. I had to send a lot of e-mail reminders and answers to questions before I got all the responses (and one host never responded).

Once I had all the information, it took two or three hours to add the numbers and compile the report.

Oh, I heard Phil Davis before, Lillie. I’ll check out the podcast right away…

      wilson,
Phil Davis interviewed me about my Self-Publishing Primer, and he’s interviewed a lot of authors, including a couple of my clients.

Ha ha, this is my first time reading about the Blog Book Tour and it seems to be the last part of it. I’ll have to go through all the previous parts to understand this fully.

Ahh, after reading the first part, I understand. I actually thought it was a physical tour at first, but now I get it!

    • Lillie says:

      Justin,
Many people don’t know what a blog book tour is. In fact, one person I asked to host me on a blog thought I was asking to stay with the blogger’s family while I was touring their city. Hope this series introduced the concept of blog book tours to a few more people.

    • I didn’t quite understand at first either! But it is a wonderful idea!

I’m glad to have the chance to pass on this information as many people don’t know about blog book tours.
