Agnideb,

Don't get me started on the disclaimers required for book reviews. It's common practice in publishing for publishers or authors to provide a free copy of the book for a reviewer. Print reviewers—newspapers, magazines, even review publications—don't have to disclose that. But bloggers do. I don't mind the disclosure—it's just that it doesn't make sense for a standard practice to be singled out for bloggers to be treated differently. I had to go back and add a disclosure to my latest book review because I had simply forgotten to do it when I first wrote the post. In general, I think it's good practice for bloggers to disclose relationships they have, such as affiliate relationships. That should be standard practice, just as reviewers getting a free copy of a book is standard practice. :-)

NOT "total". Don't forget the FTC is clamping down on (affiliate) bloggers lol ;)

Anyway, it is nice to see that even in this day and age "honesty" gets awarded, lol :)

Our mothers were right when they told us "honesty is the best policy."

But in my personal experience, even if they don’t like hearing the truth, in the end those who hear it and actually listen win more than those who hide behind excuses and self pity.

Huang,
I value the freedom of blogging, also. However, I wish people would use the freedom responsibly. Too many people abuse the freedom with hate blogs, pornography, and other evils.
