We usually aren't thankful for the tings we see as bad in our lives, yet sometimes those things turn out to be blessings that we didn't recognize. We should be thankful regardless of our circumstances. There's a poem that says be thankful for dirty laundry because that means you have clothes to wear; be thankful for the alarm going off in the morning becaue that means you have a job; etc. It's a good reminder to be thankful even for the things we don't especially like. Yes, the Bible tells us to be thankful IN all things, not just FOR all things.
