I’m Home and Settling In
September 29, 2008 by Lillie
Finally … my Web site and blog are together. I love the Revolution Pro Business theme and the gorgeous header designed by the talented artist, Aundrea Hernandez (who also created the cover for Dream or Destiny).
I’m still working to get everything right. I lost my blogroll in the transfer so will have to re-create it. If your blog has been on my blogroll, check when you see the blogroll is back in a few days. Let me know if I’ve overlooked you.
There are still a lot of images missing. Though they seem to have transferred, somehow the links went haywire. So I’ll be working on that.
As far as I know, all the pages are complete. Please let me know if you find any links that don’t work or see anything missing or strange.
You may not see any new posts this week while I finish settling in, but I’ll be back to a normal schedule next week. Thanks for sticking around!

Everything looks fine, and the theme is ravishing. We all go through the same hustle of putting up a blog, sometimes it can be a pain, and other times, simply great!
good luck to you. a modern writer has to be good in tech too
oh, and good luck with your new book too.
Love your new look, Lillie! It’s so “you”! (The lillies are perfect!) I’ve already looked around some, and plan to come back when I have more time.
Bravo, my friend!
Thomas,
Thank you. You’re right—we never know what to expect what we starting messing around with blogs and Web sites.
Do follow,
Yes, we have to be good at tech—and I’m not much of a techie. I can muddle my way through, but I’m not nearly as fast or good as I’d like to be.
Thanks to the good wishes on the book.
Renae,
Thank you so much. I’m glad you like it.
Yes it is very difficult to switch over from one thing to other and to get the things right. I am waiting for you to get all things right and settled and start posting something new
personal loans,
I plan to start posting something new next week. Thanks for your patience while I go through this transition.
I love it, Lillie! The old one was nice, but this has a much better feel to it, and it loads much faster (the old one took forever, and I’m on a FiOS Internet connection!).
Lori,
Thanks! The slow load time of the previous theme always bothered me, and I’d removed widgets and done everything I could to improve it. I’m glad this loads faster for you.
Lillie, it’s beautiful! Congratulations on your new home! It is welcoming and bright and perfectly suits your wonderful personality and writing. I look forward to many visits.
Karen,
Thank you so much for the lovely compliment.
I like the new look!
Getting all the kinks out of a theme can be a pain and a lot of work. I have never really enjoyed web design like I do other technical issues, in part because of how hard it can be to get everything lined up and looking sharp.
Very cool looking theme. I recently installed a Revolution theme myself and am glad I did. They really make blogs look more professional and clean looking.
A1,
It always amazes me how everything can appear to be done just right … and still something is awry.
Thanks, Justin! I’ve used the Revolution theme on several other blogs though this is the first time I’ve used Pro Business. I really like Revolution.
This is the first time I’ve been able to check out your site in a while. I like the new layout. Can’t wait to see your work again.
I’m really liking the theme. It’s simple, but elegant and professional. I wish you best of luck with the new theme in hopes you get more traffic. Who knows maybe your site will start to get more traffic then Digg (it wouldn’t be that hard), haha.
Diane,
Thanks for visiting. I’m glad you like the new site.
Dwayne,
I’m not holding my breath for Digg … I just want people who like what I write to find me. But if I ever make the frong page of Digg, I’ll remember your prediction.
I loved it the old way but love it this way too. It’s clean and cheerful, a breath of fresh air. But most of all, your content and informative and enjoyable.
i really liked the theme its simple and attractive
James,
Thank you. I’m happy with the theme.
Thanks, Bonnie, I’m eager to get back to writing more content—I haven’t done much lately.
Oh, Lillie … you’re new home is beautiful! I hope you are soon settled and free to focus on writing again. I know how distracting it can be when you start tinkering with the technical stuff.
The new site looks beautiful, Lillie. So sunny and cheerful!
all the best. and this design looks good/
The blog look is interesting, is the template a one off design or available for purchase ?
Deb,
Thank you. I had to keep my yellow and my lilies.
flash,
I customized the Revolution Pro Business theme by Brian Gardner. There’s a link to the Revolution site in the footer here.
ru4real,
The technical stuff is distracting, and I’m eager to get the final tweaks done and get back to writing.
Chiky,
Thank you!
Hi Lillie,
You’ve done a really good job in customizing the Revolution Pro Business theme, personalizing it in the process.
Mike
Lillie, I like the theme. I’ve been considering purchasing a Revolution theme myself and will keep an eye on your site to see how it performs.
Let us know if there are any quirks to using this theme too, please.
Thanks, Matt. I really like the Revolution themes. I created and maintain three other sites (two for clients and one for my church) on Revolution. This is the first time I’ve used Revolution Pro Business, but I bought the all-inclusive, multi-use package and am working on two more sites with Revolution themes now.
Brian Gardner has just announced that he has teamed up with a partner (sorry I can’t remember the name) to create open source Revolution themes. The current premium themes will remain exclusive for those who have already bought them, and he will develop additional premium themes as well. But the bulk of his work will apparently be open source.
cool,
Thank you. A little personalization goes a long way.
I just realized as I was reading along here that the bright yellow is causing me to smile involuntarily. They say houses with yellow front doors sell more quickly than others. I think, in addition to your great writing, this color scheme will keep people coming back.
Very nice design on the page. It really welcomes you into it.
Jayme,
What a lovely thing to say! I’m glad to bring a smile to your face.
Michael,
Thank you. I’m glad you feel welcome—that is my goal.
Lillie,
I’ve visited the site before, but only lurked. I think it looks great now. It’s easy to read and easy to navigate. I will be visiting again.
Tammy
Thank you, Tammy. I hope you come back often!
How can I get in touch with Aundrea Hernandez? Do Aundrea do work for other people like me or is it a personal thing? I sure can use some work on my personal site.
Truby
Well, Lilie. It’s surely not an easy task here, isn’t it? However, I’m sure you will be able to overcome it
For those interested in the Revolution theme, Brian Gardner is going open-source on new themes but will continue to support the current themes: http://www.briangardner.com/. He is having a sale during October for the current themes, then they will be no longer available.
wilson,
I’m getting there ….
Truby,
Aundrea has a group of customers she works with. She’s not open for new clients right now.
Thank you Lillie for your quick response. Have a great day.
You’re welcome, Truby.
http://www.briangardner.com/ got some nice themes
