Hakan Se,
I don't function without using the telephone. However, if the message can be delivered just as effectively by phone or e-mail, I always choose e-mail.

There are several reasons for this: 1) since I work mostly at night, most people are sleeping when I'm working and vice-versa so I have to adjust my schedule for phone calls; 2) writing an e-mail gives me an opportunity to think through what I'm saying and to write it clearly - I'm more effective in written than in oral communication; 3) an e-mail creates a permanent record of what was said so there's no confusion later of who said what.

4.Since I don’t like to talk on the telephone, I communicate by e-mail whenever I can.

without telephone... I can't imagine that.

Kerrie,

This is probably a common situation. I'm really overtaxed right now with lots of work.

Lillie,

"I seem to have missed the vocabulary lesson on the word “no.” When someone asks if I can do something, my automatic response if “of course.”

I completely agree with you on this one. I've taken on too much at once because I can't say no or I don't think about saying something like, "I can't do this for you now, but I can in 2 weeks."

Vlad,
I guess as a writer I just express myself better in writing. However, for many years, I did a lot of public speaking - not sure why I liked that but don't like talking on the phone. :-)
