Remembering Jesus’ sufferings is painful but, as you say, worthwhile to bring us closer to God. Also to make us reaize and appreciate the great sacrifice He made.

I’m going to check with my priest because I believe I heard this in a sermon (though it’s possible I heard it somewhere else). I do not have the source readily available but will check it out.

Where can I find information that verifies that the Priest wore a rope around his leg when performing his ceremonial duties….?
