On the Wings of the Wind

The Taylors have received the first review for On the Wings of the Wind: A Journey to Faith.

Carolyn R. Scheidies, a wonderful Christian author and an excellent reviewer, posted the review at Author’s Choice Reviews.

I like her ending comment:

An interesting story, high in Scriptural context, and personal anecdotes.

That’s great news, Lillie. I still have problems with that cover – but the review almost gets me there. :)

I have another question for you though: was your book published? I want to buy it – could you please tell me where to get it? When? etc? I want to read that book in hardcover!

  2. Lillie says:

Thanks, Mig. The Taylors wrote a blog post explaining the cover. One thing we can say for it: it’s gotten attention!

Unfortunately, the publication of my book has been delayed since the publisher had complications from hand surgery. She hopes to be back at work next week, so the book will get back on track. I’ll let you know when something happens. This delay has been frustrating, but when you’re dealing with a small publisher there’s no backup if something happens to one person. She was on the final round of edits, taking into consideration all the suggestions from those of you who so generously read and commented on the manuscript.

  3. Mig says:

Oh, I hope your publisher feels better. I am patient to wait. :) I am sure you’ll let us all know on your blog too.

  4. Hey! Sounds like an interesting story. We have quite a readers group here at my retirement community. I think I am going to give it a try and maybe introduce it at the next group meeting!

    Cheers!

I agree about the cover. Kinda makes me scratch my head. But, I am all for offering Christians alternative media–why should the romance genre be left out.

  6. Lillie says:

Thank you, Mig. She is better, but now her husband is in the hospital with cellulitis. They have both had a lot of health problems in the last few years, but they’ll be back.

And I promise I’ll let you know when something happens with the book. :-)

  7. Lillie says:

Great! I think your retirement community readers group would find the book interesting and helpful. You can order it from Amazon.com or a bookstore, but if you order directly from the authors from the On the Wings of the Wind Web site you will get autographed copies PLUS a free CD of beautiful Christian music and a sermon by Pastor Taylor.

  8. Lillie says:

It’s not actually a romance, Jason. It’s the true story of one woman’s spiritual journey. There is some romance – when she fell in love with and married her first husband and then when she found love again after she had been widowed several years. But that is only a small part of the story. The message is Jesus is always with us – as he was with the author when she was a California beach gil and as he is still with her today as a senior citizen.
