Thanks for the visit. I haven't had a chance to try the plugin yet - so little time!

Thanks for the read. I especially enjoyed the article by Ronald Huereca. I think the plugin for the personalized first time commenters is a great idea.

The thing thing is, Jacob, that I have several redirects on other pages, and they work fine. But those are all on static pages on my Web site - this is the first time I've tried it on my blog. Now that you've told me that should work, I'll dig a little deeper. Thanks for your help.

That's strange. A simple redirect at the webserver level - which is what your control panel redirect should mean - would do the trick. After all, by definition, that's what a redirect is.

I'd double-check that you tried the control panel with the right syntax, and ask your ISP for more help. You need to be able to set up redirects.

Annie,
You're welcome.

Jacob,
Thanks for pointing out the bad link. I thought I'd check it when the list was first posted, but apparently not. I changed the link as you suggested, but I entered the same post in the Blue Jar how-to group writing project so now those links are wrong. The Permalink Redirect plugin usually takes you to the right post when the URL is changed (it worked great when I changed the structure of my permalinks), but maybe it doesn't work if the change is in the date rather than the post title. I also tried to put a redirect on the URL in the control panel of my Web site, but that didn't work either. So finally I just put the link to the post directly on my 404 error page. :-) If anyone has any suggestions on how I can fix this, please let me know. I realize I should have checked the link as soon as the list went up - this has taught me a valuable lesson!

GnomeyNewt,
Thanks for the good luck wishes.
