Seven Random Things
June 25, 2007 by Lillie
I’ve said before that I participate in memes only when they fit my goals for this blog. Since I’ve learned that building a community is the most important part of blogging, anything that helps us get to know each other better is worth doing.
Lisa at Getting it Write for You tagged me to share seven random things about myself and then tag other bloggers I’d like to know more about. I probably share too much about myself already
, but here are seven things you may not know:
- I grew up on a farm seven miles outside a town with a population of less than 2,000.
- Until I applied for financial aid for college, I didn’t know we were “poor” because my parents always made us feel rich with lots of love and plenty of home-grown food.
- I was the first person in my family to attend college.
- Except for college and a couple of summers living with an aunt so I could work at a summer job in the big city, I’ve lived in only two houses my entire life: the farmhouse I grew up in and the house my husband and I have lived in for 40 years.
- I’m much better in helping other writers promote their books than I am at promoting my own.
- My husband is my best friend and soulmate.
- Because I believe I can serve God by serving His people, I do a lot of volunteer work for my church – creating the weekly bulletins, managing the membership records, editing and publishing the newsletter, and maintaining the Web site.
Now I’d like to know seven random things about Mig at eWritings, Yvonne at Grow Your Writing Business, Karen at A Deaf Mom Shares Her World, Thomma Lyn at Tennessee Text Wrestling, and Hummie at Hummie’s World.

Hmmm… seven random things… I’ll have to give that some thought. I may not be able to post it for a while, but will let you know when I’ve done the deed.
I enjoyed reading yours, Lillie.
It took me a while to get to this after Lisa tagged me, so I understand, Yvonne.
Thank you so much for the tag, Lillie, and I enjoyed reading your answers! I’ll be posting my answers later on today.
I look forward to reading your seven things, Thomma Lyn.
Lillie, just a note — since I’ve also been tagged for the Eight Random Things meme and I participate in Thursday Thirteen, I’ve decided to combine the two memes together and make them into my Thursday Thirteen for this week!
So I’ll have a Thursday Thirteen with Fifteen Random Things, hee hee!
Great math, Thomma Lyn! I’ll look forward to reading your Thursday Thirteen/seven random things/eight random things.
Thank you for the tag, Lillie. I’m in.
Sorry to answer so late. And thank you for the mention in the ebooks entry too.
I look forward to your entry, Mig.
Lillie,
Great random facts! I couldn’t imagine living in only two homes my entire life, as I have already moved several times in my thirty some years of existence! LOL. But this time the move is permanent – or at least that’s what I’m counting on!
Take care and have a wonderful day!
Lisa
Lisa,
Good luck with your “permanent” move!
I know staying in one place for so long is a real aberration today.
I am trying to find time to do this! I may start a draft of it and work on it little by little. I need time to think!
Very interesting series on E-Books too! I have to go back and read that more carefully.
Thanks, Hummie. I’ll forward to reading your seven things whenever you get around to posting.
Hey Lillie.. Thanks for sharing about yourself. Nice to know that you are serving the Lord and others too. God bless.
Thank you, Doris.
