Spring House Front CoverSpring House: Book 1 in the Westward Sagas by David Bowles is now available. I really enjoyed helping the author bring this book to fruition and am pleased with the excellent reviews the book is receiving. Spring House—the first in the Westward Sagas, a series of historical novels based on his family history—is about the Revolutionary War in North Carolina and is historically accurate although it’s written as a novel. The book is suitable for young people as well as adults. The author is also available to speak about the Revolutionary War, researching and preserving family history, and other topics.

I found the book a little bit slow paced for my liking. I prefer the other book: Adam’s Daughter and find that more entertaining.

      toni,

Spring House was David’s first book, and he wanted to include all the history. When he got to Adam’s Daughters, he focused more on telling the story than on making sure every historical tidbit that he thought interesting was included. At some point, he may revise Spring House, but he has two more books in the series to write now. I’m sure they will be even better.

Every writer should improve with each book!

I would recommend this book to all the parents who need books to share with their children. I truly enjoyed the historical significance and I know that my son will also.

    Jules,

David’s books are great for parents to read to children or young folks to read independently. They are written in an easy-to-read and enjoyable style that works well for families.
